Paid Listing Terms

Last updated: November 4, 2026

These terms apply when a business buys a paid listing plan in the Empire Bud Academy New York Cannabis Directory (the “Directory”), operated by Mathis Media (“we,” “us”). By paying an invoice for a listing plan, you agree to these terms and to our Terms of Use.

1. Who can claim a listing

You must be an owner, officer or authorized manager of the licensed business, and at least 21 years old. One business can hold one active claim per listing. We decide whether a claim is verified, and we may ask for more information, call the store, or decline a claim we can’t verify.

2. What a free listing includes

Every dispensary with an active, operating license in the state’s public records is listed free. Free listings show information from those records. Paying for a plan doesn’t change a business’s license status, its “OCM licensed” badge or the state data shown on its listing.

3. The Claimed listing plan

The Claimed plan costs $29 per month per location. It includes:

  • a “Claimed by owner” badge;
  • your phone number, website and menu link;
  • your own hours and a store description;
  • one store photo or logo; and
  • a private link to submit updates.

We review all submitted content before it’s published.

Other plans shown on the Directory (Featured, Service provider and EBA partner) are not yet available. Their features and prices may change before launch.

4. Billing and payment

  1. After we verify your claim, we email you an invoice for the first month through Stripe. Your plan starts when we receive payment.
  2. Plans renew monthly. We invoice each month in advance, and invoices are due within 14 days.
  3. If an invoice is more than 15 days past due, we may remove the plan’s features. Your listing then goes back to the free listing until payment is made.
  4. We may change prices with 30 days’ notice by email. The new price applies from your next billing period.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time by replying to any invoice or emailing listings@empirebudacademy.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you’ve paid for, and the listing then goes back to the free listing. We don’t give refunds for partial months, except where required by law.

6. Listing content rules

You’re responsible for the content you submit, and it must be accurate and lawful. Because the Directory covers New York’s regulated cannabis market, content must also follow the advertising and marketing rules that apply to your license. Content must not:

  • include false, misleading or unverifiable statements;
  • make health, medical or therapeutic claims;
  • be designed to appeal to people under 21;
  • promote prices, discounts, giveaways or other promotions;
  • include another business’s trademarks without permission; or
  • link to sites selling unlicensed products.

We may edit, decline or remove any content, at our discretion, including to comply with OCM rules or guidance.

7. License status

The Directory reflects the state’s public license records, which we update about once a month. If a license is no longer active and operating in those records, we may remove or hide the listing, including a paid listing. If your listing is removed because the license is no longer active, we won’t invoice future months. We don’t refund any unused part of a month you’ve already paid for, except where required by law.

8. No endorsement or guarantees

A listing, badge or paid plan isn’t an endorsement of a business or its products. Empire Bud Academy is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. We don’t guarantee traffic, customers, search rankings or sales, or that the Directory will be available without interruption.

9. Ending a plan

We may end a plan or remove a claim if:

  • the claim turns out not to be authorized;
  • invoices go unpaid;
  • these terms are broken; or
  • continuing would conflict with law or regulatory guidance.

Where practical, we’ll tell you by email.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date shows when they last changed, and we’ll email active paid listing holders about material changes.
