Corrections Policy
When We Update an Article
We update published coverage when a rule is adopted, amended, delayed, or becomes effective; when OCM or the CCB issues clarification; when a court ruling, enforcement action, deadline, or license status changes material facts; or when a statistic or annual reference becomes stale.
Our Correction Process
When we identify an error, we stop distribution of the incorrect claim, verify the correction against the strongest available source, and correct the article promptly. For errors that materially affected understanding, we add a transparent correction note.
We do not silently preserve a known factual error to protect traffic or appearance, and we record what caused the error so we can adjust our research and review process going forward.
